Candlelight fireplace

Are you one of the many people who love fireplaces? Do you wish that you could use it all year long? Or maybe you love fireplace but it never gets cold enough in the South for you to use yours? Or does the smell of burning wood offend your senses and cause your allergies to go haywire. Perhaps you have a fireplace but it is "just for looks."

I have a passion for candles. I think they are romantic. I have to admit however, there are times when I just want to sink into a nice hot bath, light a few candles, lock the door to the bathroom and escape reality just for a few moments. However, I also like sitting in the den, watching the stars and the animals outside, and the only thing missing is a roaring fire in the fireplace.

Well, I have a way to put that fireplace to use year around and what's more, you can too.

Candlelight Fireplace Insert

Items Needed:

Three logs (big enough to sit on grate in fireplace)

12 tea light candles

Drill with circular bit

Matches

Directions:

Measure logs and make sure that they will sit comfortably on grate in fireplace.

Next, take logs outside and using a circular bit, drill four circular holes in each log, just deep and wide enough to hold a tea light

Candle.

Next, place one tea light candle into each hole. Then take wood and arrange in grate, so that all twelve tea lights can burn freely.

Now, when dusk falls, or you just want to see flames flickering in your fireplace, or you are trying to light the "home fires", just flick a match to the candle and let nature take its course.

When candles burn down, you can easily replace with another candle. Plus, you never have to worry about cleaning out the fireplace or cutting more firewood. At least, not until winter.
