Finding examples of what your like should be easier than actually narrowing down your choices.

There are websites dedicated to teaching people how to decorate, there are sites that teach people how to build or buy furniture. There are millions of sites dedicated to decorating tips. The Internet can provide information on how to paint, stain and recover. There are also programs on the Internet that can provide 3D virtual rooms of your own house.
There are software providers that will allow designers to virtually design a room by exact specifications. Imagine how much easier it will be to make decisions when you can see them on a computer screen without having to paint or move a piece of furniture. You can change your mind a thousand times until you find exactly what you like without spending any money or wasting any time.
There are many places for anyone with an imagination and a room to decorate to find motivation and inspiration. Simply finding out what you like and creating a few spaces that you love will continue to motivate you and keep your creativity flowing.
