Wall Mirrors Can Make a Major Difference in Interior Design

The phrase "wall mirror" is enough to remind us of traditional bathroom mirrors found in almost every home. Although this isn't wrong mirrors have hundreds of other uses as well. We have associated mirrros with bathrooms mostly but a casual look will reveal that mirrors can be found in rooms other than bathrooms. For example you may find mirrors in living room or office walkways, living rooms, porches, corridors, hallways and the like. Mirrors are also very prevalent in bedrooms where people use them for grooming purposes. Moreover nowadays you may even find walls covered with mirrors and also entire buildings that spot mirrors.

Mirror use has also gone high-tech. An example of this is the advanced mirrors that are on board the Hubble Telescope. These are some of the most advanced mirrors in the world and have been used capture some outstanding images. Similarly cosmic observatories also have various mirrors since their work is to look for new stars. Mirrors can even be found in cars, which is inevitable since it is impossible for anyone to turn around while driving. In ancient times, mirrors were not manufactured out of glass because the technology of making glass was unknown to man at that time. Places like turkey used volcanic rocks which had reflective qualities. These rocks were polishes until they became smooth and developed a reflective surface. Similarly tribes like the Mayans and the Central American used polished stone in the form of mirrors. The Romans were the first people to invent glass, which we know today, by refining sand. So what are the uses of wall mirrors?

Perhaps the most common use of a mirror is on the wall. This is so because mirrors are commonly used for the purpose of grooming. You cannot imagine life without a bathroom mirror since it is required for common tasks such as brushing, combing, taking a shower etc. The mirror is the most essential component of a bathroom after the toilet, the bath accessories and water. This is true especially for women since they tend to enter restrooms just for the sole purpose of having a look at themselves in the mirror. Hence the trend of powder rooms in hotels and other ball rooms. A ladies handbag generally carries a powder box or a makeup box which is useless unless there is a mirror on the wall!

Beauty shops and salons largely require wall mirrors. In fact they cannot imagine even running their business without mirrors. People often visit beauty shops and salons to enhance their looks and this would be rendered useless without mirrors! Moreover these mirrors should be bright and spotlessly clean to reflect the real image of he person. Also they need to be comparatively big since a person needs to examine himself/herself after having, say a haircut. Meanwhile beauty places such as spas also cannot do away without mirrors.
