If your porch is looking drab or dull, or simply needs more life brought onto it, there are simple quick fixes you can make to do just that. The same goes for decks. Furniture can become outdated and weather, making your space seem lifeless. With a few easy fixes, you can bring life back into your space and start using it again!
For tables or chairs made of metal or metal like material such as aluminum, you can pick up a couple of cans of spray paint in any imaginable color and spray them. The paint is cheap, and you can pick up several cans for under twenty dollars. You will want to be sure to sand off any flaking paint, and give the whole surface a sanding with a fine grit paper so that the new paint will stick well. If you have a porch swing that is the same way, with paint flaking from it, you can spray them as well after sanding. You can pink up swing cushions for porch swings in an array of patterns and designs to update your porch even further. You can buy them plain or ones that coordinate with your homes exterior. Stripes, plaids, and plain cushions are available for all types of outdoor furniture.
If the wood on your porch deck is looking weathered, consider staining it to a warmer tone. The stain will usually also deflect water, which is great to extend the life of your decking material. It is a great way to warm up a deck space, and can be done in a weekend for the do it yourselfers out there! Before you know it, after making these simple changes, you will be loving the life of sitting out on your deck or on your porch every day and evening!
