Simple Ways to Change Your Home Decor

Many people believe that to change the decor of your house takes a lot of money and time. Well they would be wrong. All you need are a few simple adjustments and alterations and your will see a major difference. You don't need to spend ridiculous amounts of time and money to re decorate. Often all you need are a few simple steps that will change the appearance of your house.

When selecting colours for the room you should think about colour contrasts. Try to use colours that compliment each other and used the two colours to draw people's attention to certain areas of the room. For example if the room is coloured blue then a hint of green in certain areas will attract person's attention and draw them to see that area of the room.

To compliment the colours within your house glass tables and furniture can be great. The glass can act as a centre piece of the room as it can have stylish designs and engravings on it. This can act as a piece of artwork that you can design your whole room decor on. Also the glass is transparent allowing light to flow through the room without obstruction from big bulky furniture which then creates a spacious and clean atmosphere.

To draw people's attention to a certain part of the room lighting can be used. A change in lighting can have a very dramatic affect within a room. Purchasing a simple lamp to sit next to the furniture can draw people attention and can also create an inviting atmosphere. The different colours of light can be changed by using different lamp shades and different bulbs. Also a simple lamp shade can provide a nice centre piece for a room with its patterns and elegant cloth designs. A high quality lamp can create the impression of elegance and is sure to get your guests talking.

Within a room the seating can be a major affect on the atmosphere. If you have well designed furniture then the room will feel more spacious and well used. Around a kitchen bar, barstools are a great way to save space and provide comfortable areas for people to sit. A kitchen bar is also a great accessory for when you are entertaining guests at your home. Drinks and food can be placed here, and it is not as formal as a proper sit down meal on a fully laid table. As a result a more friendly and relaxed atmosphere is created. The bar stools are high and will allow for people to sit and talk with others who are standing. This allows the guests to feel more relaxed and in a comfortable environment.

On the other hand, when it comes to the colder months larger fabric furniture could be an option. They provide a feeling of warmth and comfort. Patterns and fabrics are making a comeback, along with decorating your furniture with accent pillows and throw over's. These pieces of decor can provide a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere that invites guests to enter. These extra layers on the furniture provide a sense of warmth as the seasons are providing frost and cold days. As we put on layers of clothing why not do this to our furniture?

So whether you are looking for simple way to make your home more inviting to guests or trying to create a more relaxing home environment, take into consideration these points and you can't go wrong.
