Kindergarten Graduation Party Decorations | The happiest time in your life can be at the graduation of your children. That is true at each stage, from kindergarten right through to university. However, each one of the ceremonies and the parties that follow need to be organized and delivered, including the graduation party decorations.
The best way in general is to have a budget and a very detailed plan, plus a committed team who are going to organize everything together. I do love the idea of working in a team to deliver one of these events.
However, with our children going through the grades at different stages, it is only fair to be part of the whole thing from time to time. The parties for each grade are generally the same in that they need entertainment, decorations, guests, food, music, costume, security, and favors. The ideal kindergarten party is somewhat different to the ones for the high school graduates. That is true for virtually all aspects of the party and the apparent stress we all feel organizing the party. However, I have to say I would feel extremely sad, if I arranged a bad and disappointing party for the kindergarten kids. Hence, I noticed our team all worked, just as hard on the kindergarten version, as we did for the much bigger high school party.
The kindergarten graduation party does need to have a focus on graduation, however, can easily be merged in with a good fun theme. Themes do seem to take their turn going around. Our last theme for Ellie's kindergarten was patriotic, which mixed well with graduation. The patriotic and graduation party decorations were on the face of it quite simple to do. However, it was important to be clear what the kids would understand and enjoy. There was no point in having any presidential pictures, for example, if they did not know who the person was. That same principle would be true for any decorations used. Luckily, the kindergarten staff were part of the organizing committee.
The graduation party decorations firstly settled on the balloons, streamers, tinsel and banners. The banners had the usual congratulations to Class of 2009 on them. The balloons were lots of bright colored ones, with some tied in bunches and a balloon bag fixed to the ceiling. Some balloons had smiley faces on them and some were decorated by the kids. We did have a lot of streamers and tinsel to create a good looking party.
We also had lots of symbols of graduation that were caps, gowns and scrolls, which the kids knew all about. The patriotic graduation party decorations were little flags, stars and stripes cups, plates, table covering, hats and t-shirts. We also had photos of the presidents the kids knew plus pictures of Olympic sporting heroes with their gold medals. An example of an Olympian was Michael Phelps. The kids also had their own small flag with a favor bag, including a stars and stripes notepad and pen. Also, there was face paints to decorate the kids. We had a patriotic mural which the kids had used during the year, with mention of the Declaration of Independence and other key historical events which they had been taught.
The overall effect was quite like a lot of graduation party decorations, but it did look very good.
