How to Create a Feminine Bathroom

Whether taking a relaxing bubble bath or primping for a big night out, bathrooms are all about the art of beautifying. Create a perfect bathroom by following the guidelines below.

1.Choose a soft color palette. Light colors expand small spaces and promote a feminine feel. Consider pastels and other muted tones as foundation color and bring in a complimentary accent color. Peaches, mints and aquas are all good choices.

2.Incorporate your accent color. Once you've selected your base color, bring in a complimentary color through towels, rugs and other accessories. Choose soft and plush bathroom linens.

3.Dress up your windows and the shower. Use lace, sheers or white eyelet as window treatments and as shower curtains. Keep the materials light and airy, and opt for soft colors.

4.Go soft and pretty, or garish and glamorous. Using hand-picked decorative items, bring some personality into your powder room. Display wall hangings and knick knacks that reflect female sensibilities. Think frilly yet functional while using ornamental containers to store makeup brushes and toiletry items. Show off pretty perfume bottles and beauty products.

5.Find a cute accessories set that includes a soap dispenser and toothbrush and toothpaste holders. Choose a style that fits the feminine feel.

6.Incorporate decorative baskets to hold washrags, hand towels and soaps.

Tips:

  • Create a well-lit vanity by installing ample lighting around your mirror and sink.
  • Install shelving or cabinets to allow for plenty of storage space.
