There are three kitchen designs that you can choose from. The most popular and usually the least expensive is the bar shape. These will include the basics-a grill, a sink and some storage space. You can generally buy these kitchen bars ready to use. You home improvement store and stores that sell outdoor living products will usually carry these outdoor kitchen bars. The bars are suited for light and occasional cooking, such as occasional barbeques. They are not suited for large-scale entertainment and cooking.

The next shape you can choose from is called the L-shaped bar. These will offer about the same features as the basic bar, but will probably have a bit more storage and counter space and may even have room for a couple of barstools to use as seating. These are a little more expensive than the basic bar and will cost you a bit more.

The most expensive outdoor kitchen bar you can pick is the U-shaped. These are bigger and provide you with more storage, cooking and seating. These are the most expensive, but are more versatile than the other two kinds.

Of course, you can also choose from custom-built kitchen cooking areas. If you are looking for something that is fully customizable, then this is the right option for you. This will certainly cost you more than the ones that come ready to use, but they are perfect if you get a lot of joy out of outdoor entertaining. If you are building landscaping features or a pool, you can hire a contractor to build your outdoor kitchen to match. Many homeowners will have it built into stone and will add a grill, sink, seating and even an outdoor fireplace, which is great for entertaining during the cooler months of the year. There are many examples of outdoor kitchens in home decorating books and magazines.
