How To Create A Warm And Inviting Guest Room

Whether you are having guests over for the holiday season or you are a family who is constantly having friends and family over throughout the entire year, a warm and inviting guest room becomes a necessity for you. Many people think a guest room can simply contain a bed and a nightstand and your guests will be comfortable.

Yes, they may have a bed to sleep on, but that is it. They will not be comfortable and they will certainly not feel at home. What a great host or hostess wants is for their guests to be comfortable and feel at home when they are staying in their home.

Let's start with some great tips to help you creating the perfect guest room atmosphere.

- Best bed money can buy
- Quality and comfortable linens
- Luggage rack
- Comfortable chair
- Great lighting accents
- Closet and dresser space
- Basic amenities (hair dryer, shampoo, soaps, etc)
- Privacy

Every guest loves to be able to open their suitcase and put their clothing and accessories away in either a dresser or a closet. This most definitely makes them feel more at home when they are not literally living out of a suitcase.

When it comes to the bed itself, you yourself know how important the bed is when you are in a hotel room or sleeping in a new bed. There is nothing worse than sleeping on stiff sheets and a hard bed if you are used to soft and comfortable during your night sleep.

A great bed doesn't have to be huge and elaborate. Something simple such as a panel bed, platform bed, or small sleigh bed can be more than affordable and well worth the investment. A twin or double mattress is usually perfect for a warm and inviting guest room unless you are expecting couples and large numbers of people on a more regular basis than a queen bed may in fact be more suitable.

Whichever size is right for you, it never pays to cheap out on a mattress because if you don't want to sleep on it yourself, how can you expect your guests to be comfortable?

A warm and inviting guest room lies on many different accents and the feeling of home. No matter where you are in the world you want to feel comfortable and the simple additions of a comfortable chair, empty closet and soft linens can make all the difference deciding whether your guest is having a good time or a bad time.
