How to talk with your child about decorating his room. How to involve the kid in decorating but not losing control the same time. These questions are quite important and in this article we will try to give some answers. Let's try to focus on this subject.
An important element in those puzzles is the age of the child. If it is really young kid the only thing that we can do for our kid when decorating is to think how the kid would feel like in the room - depends of it is a boy or a girl, what things he likes. A 3-year old would really have problems to decide on something that is good for him.
When the child is older, about 5-10 it would like to have some impact on the look of the room. Child at this age also have some things that he likes from school, movies or books. Have some favorites colors, items and know exactly in what surrounding he feels best. He would also probably want to have some his own contribution in the physical work.
Older age, a teenage one, 11 and over that, is really strange and difficult age. We have to be careful with child's opinions and carefully listen to them. They are very concentrate on their own thoughts and feelings and they are sure that all other world should do the same. So, when it comes to decorating room, let's, almost, leave the free choice to our kid.
Of course, when there will be a matter of budget and exact vision we also need to make our sentence clear. Let's make the budget concrete from the beginning and tell the kid what kind of decorating we can't accept (in example whole black room or something more creeping) and then the rest belongs to child - if we need our help should do it for him.
