Investing in new furniture and accessories can be expensive when paying full-price and especially when you want to decorate or re-decorate every room in your home. However, you can furnish your home beautifully and economically by taking advantage of sales at retail and on line stores. Seek out shopping selections that have value, style and great prices at stores that save you money.
The most bang with fewer bucks.
Do your own home-improvement projects on your own with handy tools and with the help of family and friends spending minimal money on needed materials. Save money by buying paint or wallpaper for tasks you complete without paying for labor.
Try not to do your decorating all at once.
I tend to spread out decorating projects by purchasing a few accessories at a time, (catching them on sale), decorating one space at a time, going to craft stores to find frames for poster art, or frame copyright free commissioned art and make copies at a office supply store for a fraction of the cost of a buying original art work. Adding decorative layers to a room piece-by-piece or project-by-project is an excellent way to save money in the long run and you are not doling out a large amount of cash all at once. One advantage of spreading out a decorating project is you can wait for the furnishings you need to go on sale. If you decorate seasonally, you can buy summer home accessories at the end of the season and use them the following season. Alternatively, you can shop at early in the season sales to get a jump-start on decorating and save a few dollars.
Access to bargains.
There are great home decorating items found at dollar stores, off-price department stores, discount wholesale online furniture stores, flea markets, re-sale shops, outlet shopping malls, coupons for shopping online, on E-bay, in-store sales and layaway.
Do your discount shopping for home furnishings as creatively as you can and get a million dollar look in your home at bargain prices you can live with.
