Deciding what kind of console table to get can be a tricky task. A console table is a piece of furniture usually used for decorative purposes but it can also be practical as a place to empty your pockets when you return home from work.
There are many types of console tables and they also come in every imaginable size, shape, color and material. Each one is designed for similar but different purposes so make sure that you know what you want to use it for before deciding which one to buy.
If you are looking for a console table to place next to your front door so that you can leave your keys when you get in you house then what you are looking for is an entrance console table. Such a table is usually long and has enough space for some decorative elements such as some pictures of your family or a beautiful lamp.
If you are just looking a table to place behind your sofa for decorative purposes then you are looking to get a sofa console table. This is again usually rectangular shaped and long. In this case, you can again place some pictures of your family and friends on top or anything else that you thing would look nice. What I think you should be careful of though here is that you don't place any tall or fragile objects on such a table as this would be risky. It is not rare that someone stretches while sitting in the sofa so this could result in him pushing something of the table and I bet you wouldn't want your mother's expensive vase breaking in pieces. Go with short objects such as picture frames. If you definitely want to have something tall on it then at least make sure that it is heavy enough so that it has a better balance.
The last type we are going to consider here is the hallway console table. Such a table must be relatively small in order for it to fit in a hallway without disrupting anyone that wants to walk through it. This can be used to place a phone device or a clock on and it can look amazing.
Always remember that you need to find the type that best suits your taste and needs so never rush into a decision. Allow enough time to yourselves to find the perfect one and you won't regret it.
