Decorating With Hawaii Wallpaper

It's quite funny, I wanted to look up the term "Hawaii wallpaper" on Google for decorating purposes, and most of the websites that came up were offering a desktop wallpaper for your computer! Not at all what I was looking for, but I downloaded one anyway.

Hawaii is probably the most clicheed tropical holiday destination on the planet. Those of us who are fortunate enough to have experienced these stunning islands first hand cherish the memories for the rest of their lives, or even better keep coming back for more!

For those of us who would love to but cannot afford to go on a dream holiday like the Hawaiian Islands, or those who have been there and just always want to have a slice of Hawaii with them, there is always the opportunity to transform your home or even just parts of your home into a Hawaiian getaway.

There are many ways in which you can decorate your home to depict the Hawaiian feel and aura. Have your room(s) in a mixture of the colors white, sand, pink, different shades of blue and green, yellow and orange. By adding some tropical plants and especially the Hibiscus Flower, be it in real or as a print on the wall, or displaying the Tiki Statue or a Tiki mask you can really add an authentic touch.

Having one wall covered in Hawaii wallpaper, like a mural, will of course have the most stunning and "real life" effect you can imagine. A Hawaii wallpaper mural can transform a whole room into a warm and peaceful tropical island experience, a place where you can really relax and kick your shoes off. Depending what sort of ambiente you want to create, you could pick a sunset or a daylight picture. Sunsets would emphasize the effect of warmth, whereas pictures in daylight would pinpoint more freshness and openness.

Wallpapers can come in several panels, depending on their size. You will have to be extremely careful when putting them up on the wall - if the seams don't match, the effect can be ruined. You will very likely need help for big wall panels, either get a friend to give you a hand, or even better, see if you can find an expert decorator.

When decorating your home in any theme though, you have to be sure that you do not overdo it. Do too much, and your place will start to look tacky and cluttered. If you want to do it in style, stick to a few but well chosen decor items, get your colors right, and keep the room open and organized. When putting up a Hawaii wallpaper, you are already adding a real "wow"-effect item to your decor, all you would still need to top it off would be some real life palms and tropical plants in clusters, and a few handpicked Hawaiian decor items. Then you can't go wrong!
