Create Your Own Home Spa With a New Bathtub

The spa weekend away, it's a fantastic way to relax. Spending time in a place you can totally forget about work in, with massages and therapeutic treatments to fill your day. There's no doubt about it, it's unbeatable. But unfortunately booking a pampered weekend away is also not very cheap, so it makes sense to try and come up with an alternative that's a little easier on the pocket.

Why not turn your own bathroom into your very own private spa retreat. Now I'm not saying that you'll be able to achieve the exact same effect as the professional version but you can none the less use your bathroom as a place to relax in after a long day at work.

So how do you go about it, well the key to extracting the maximum potential from your bathroom lies with the bathtub. The bathtub is the single most influential yet under utilized bathroom fixture. How many of us tend to not bother with a bath and instead go straight for a quick shower?

To enjoy your bathtub you need to have the right tub to begin with. There's no sense trying to squeeze yourself under the water in a standard five foot long, two foot wide tub, that's no fun. So when buying a bathtub aimed at relaxation and achieving the home spa experience, there are quite a lot of options.

Right at the top of the list is the deep soaking bathtub, if you enjoy a quiet relaxing full body soak then this is the bathtub to consider. The high walls mean you can lounge in chin deep water. For something a little more upmarket and with a little more character, consider a Japanese Soaking Tub. Based on the same deep principle as the deep soaking tub the Japanese bathtub if often finished to a higher standard, and will feature extras like digital water temperature controls.

Perhaps what puts you off having a long bath is the act of climbing into and out of the bath tub. Depending on your level of mobility this can be a real pain, and in some cases, dangerous. To tackle this problem there are now walk in bath tubs that feature a door, so no more climbing over the side of the tub.

If you're looking for something a little more dynamic, then there are a multitude of Jacuzzi bathtubs and hot tubs available to choose from. Few people are lucky enough to be able to accommodate a Jacuzzi bathtub in their bathroom so for most of us the solution is a Hot Tub. Featuring targeted water jets and whirlpools the hot tub or whirl pool bath is a great option for actively massaging a tired body while soaking.
