So you're ready to decorate a bedroom. Where do you start? One of the easiest ways I have found to decorate a bedroom is by making it a theme bedroom. Theme bedrooms can be anything you desire such as beach theme bedrooms, cartoon characters, your favorite color, your favorite movie... the possibilities are endless.
You can make your theme bedroom as decorated as you want. I always start with a bedspread to draw my inspiration. Then I find furniture and accessories that compliment the theme. Your bed should always be the most decorated item in the room, so don't compete with it. The paint color is the last thing I decide after I have gathered together everything I am going to place into my theme bedroom.
Kids theme bedrooms are usually the most popular as kids usually have an idea of what they want in their bedroom. Did you know that many stores now make fun shaped kids beds that compliment many different styles of decorating? You can also add funky lights, rugs, toy boxes and more to your bedroom. Teen bedrooms can be a lot of fun too- think of themes such as bright colors, surfing theme bedrooms, bubble and stripes. I'm seeing the trend of teen bedrooms becoming more sophisticated.
