Nowadays the prices of real estate are going through the roof. Now, supposedly, prices are caving in. Who cares?
All I know is that with prices so high, I can't afford a decent sized place to live. The way my bank account is looking, I may have to move into some teeny tiny space which is more aptly decribed as a closet than a house.
Assuming that there are lots of people just like me, feeling boxed in and feeling wretched, I decided to help my fellow small space dwellers by finding inventive pieces of furniture that can help you save on space.
Here is furniture that gives you 7 Inventive Ways to Live in a Closet :
1.Eat Off a Table that Changes into a Shelf
This is a table that can convert into a shelf when you put some muscles to use.
Finished eating in your cramped space? Don't think about shoving your dining room table onto a wall or even of taking out one of the built in lengtheners...No! Think about getting rid of the table all together by laying it against a wall and putting all of your books on it.
I know it will probably get really annoying to have to lug all the books and pottery off the shelves every time you need to use the table, but who ever said living in a closet did not demand some hard labor?
2. Sleep on a Bed That Turns Into a Desk
I am sure the inspiration for this item will not surprise you. After all, who hasn't used their desk as a bed and fallen asleep on it. But this one is especially designed so that instead of having to lay your head on the table and getting a crick in your neck from bending at weird angles, you can just fling the desk over to rest your tired eyes in a full sized soft fluffy bed. Zzzzz...
3. Cook on a Stove that Converts into a Chair
Folks familiar with my blog on wacky stuff will have seen this combination chair and stove before. But I like this piece of furniture so much, I decided to use it again. (it's hard finding good material, ok?)
Basically, you can cook on the stove part and then when you are done, you can just flip it over and nurse your big full belly in the cushioned chair size of this ingenious cooktop sofa. This is what I call a real HOT SEAT!
4. Pack Your Body and Your Books All in One Bookshelf
Bookshelf with Body RoomIf you are really tight on space and don't have the room to ever fit both your books and yourself in the same room, this invention is perfect for you.
The designer of the Cave Bookshelf says it "provides a private reading space within its form. As a seat height is just above the floor, CAVE gives a feeling of hiding from others standing around it. Books can be stored on both sides." I don't see many opportunities for someone to stand around me while I sit in this cave bookshelf but I guess the merchant just needed something to say to sell this thing.
5.Use a Massage Chair that Turns into a Rubber Ball
This inflatable massage chair sounds really great. The Inflatable Massage Chair massages you and then when you are done, you can deflate it into a teeny tiny little rubber pile of nothing.
It's like a blow-up doll. Keep it around to help make you feel good and then, when you are done, you can just hide it in the same place you hide the blow up doll.
6. Sit on a Sofabed that Has Lights Built In
This Morpheo Sofa Bed is a sofa, a bed and two lamps all built into one solid piece of furniture.
Talk about packing everything into one convenient package!
A huge bonus with this combination sofa, bed and lamps is that you will never have to worry about knocking over the lamps in your wild make out sessions.
7. Drink Off a Coffee Table that Turns Into a Bed
Ever want to have your coffee in bed? Well with this combination coffee table and mattress, you can do both at the same time. I don't quite see the need for a table that turns into a bed when the couch right next to it will probably be so much more comfortable but I guess if you want something different, you can always have a tablebed to show off to your friends. Ooooohh, you are just so cool... with your table bed.
Would you ever own one of these pieces of furniture or would it be just easier to keep your life simple by keeping your furniture to a sleeping bag and a suitcase? For me, I haven't decided makes more sense.
